Troy D. Hill, 44, of Cloquet, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013.

He was born Dec. 30, 1968 in Cloquet to Michael and Nancy (Lee) Hill.

He graduated from Cloquet High School in 1987. Troy attended vocational school as a machinist and worked for Remmele Engineering in Big Lake, Minn., for 10 years; and also for Cirrus Design in Duluth. He was currently working for Industrial Welders in Duluth and was a member of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Troy loved working on his Mustang, deer hunting and fishing. He especially loved kids and was a perfectionist and great handy-man.

Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Hill; his paternal grandparents, Waino and Vieno Hill; and maternal grandparents, John and Kathryn Lee.

He is survived by his father, Michael Hill; brother, Michael (Dawn) Hill; sister, Ann (Paul) Carlson; nieces, Lily Carlson and Breeann Defoe; nephew, Tyler Hill; great-nephew, Kenny Defoe; aunts and uncle, Richard (Dyhanne) Lee, Judy (Chuck) Marshall, Vivian (Clay) Goodman, Marge (George) McCausland, Evelyn (Randy) Anderson, Jackie Lee, Lori (Mark) Bergstedt, and Margaret Kaye Koerth; special friends, Cory Lee, Michelle Gilmore, Kevin Karulak, Lisa Karulak and Steve Seabury; and numerous cousins and other friends.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. The visitation will resume on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service also in Nelson Funeral Care.
