Carrie E. Sherwood, a 49-year old resident of Silver City, died Monday at Mimbres Memorial Hospital in Deming. She was born in Coffeeville, Kan.,-in 1900 and received her education in Oklahoma and Texas. She married Glen Sherwood who was associated with Texas- New Mexico Power Company in Fort Worth, Texas, and in 1936 they were transferred to Silver City. He preceded her in death in 1971. Mrs. Sherwood was a member of First United Methodist Church and a charter member of United Methodist Women. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Louise Desvaux of Silver City; a granddaughter, Mrs. Jill Hobbs of El Paso; a grandson, Dr. 1J~iy Desvaux of Knoxville, Tenn.; and a great-granddaughter and great-grandson of Knoxville. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Laura Murray of Calera, 0km. The Rev. Cliff Henderson will conduct the graveside service, set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Memory Lane Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Curtis Bright- Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Arthritis Foundation, 512 Grand, N.E., Albuquerque.
