Mason City: June Elmore, 84, of Mason City, IL. passed away at 5:40 at Mason City Area Nursing Home in Mason City, IL. on Thursday August 22, 2013. She was born on November 11, 1928, in Mason City, IL. the daughter of Harry D. and Leona P. (Brewer) Fletcher. She married Leland "Bud" Hernan on April 18, 1928, in Mason City. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1993. June later married Maury Elmore on December 5, 1998, in Mason City, IL. He survives.
June is survived by two sons, Guy Hernan of Mason City, IL. James "Jim" (Paula) Hernan of Mason City, IL., three daughters, Lois (Calvin) Stewart of Mason City, IL., Luanne (Kenneth) Cave of Easton, IL., Jule (Peter) Dragstrem of Hickory, N.C. and one stedaughter, Pamela (Al) Garreston of New Holland, IL. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
June was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Mason City, IL. where she participated in the United Presbyterian Women's Club. She also sang in the Church choir for many years. June enjoyed quilting, cooking and baking. She was a homemaker for most of her life.
A memorial service for June will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Mason City, IL. A visitation will be held two hours before the service beginning ag 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Rev. Boni Quandt will officiate. Burial will follow at Mason City Cemetery in Mason City, IL.
Memorial may be made to the United Presbyterian Church in Mason City, IL. or the Mason City Area Nursing Home.
