BRUCE--At the late residence: Cut Off, La., on Saturday, August 2, 1958, at 3:20 o'clock p.m., JOHN BRUCE, beloved husband of the late Odelia Autin, father of Wilson, Pierre, Alidor, John and Claude Bruce and Mrs. Benoit Autin; also survived by 39 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; aged 79 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place from the Falgout Funeral Homes, Inc., Galliano, La., on Monday, August 4, 1958, at 10 o'clock a.m. Services at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Cut Off, La.

Interment in Sacred Heart cemetery, Falgout Funeral Homes, Inc., Galliano, La., in charge.

The son of Adam Clet Bruce and Eulalie Eugenie Pierce.

The husband of Odelia Marie Autin; married 29 May 1897, Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, La.
Arthur Jean Bruce was born in Lockport on June 16, 1870 to Adam Bruce and Eulalie Pierce. Arthur was their second born child.

Some or all of Arthur’s siblings were: brothers, Adam Joseph, Albert Paul, Armond Basile, Joseph Eustache, Jean Cierge, Leve Pierre, Francois Xavier, Octave Barthelomy Alphonse and Abel Appolonaire Bruce; and sisters, Louise Aimee, Julie Marie, Aglonie Marie, and Sedonia Marie Bruce.

In 1880 and 1900 Arthur is living with his parents and siblings. He is not found in 1910 and 1920. By 1930 Arthur is age 58 and single, living in Crown Point Road in Jefferson Parish. He works as the proprietor of a pop stand and living just three doors from his brother Frank and wife Alcida.

Arthur Bruce died on Feb 21, 1940 in Crown Point, Jefferson Parish where he lived for at least ten years, possibly longer. His parents are named in his Louisiana Death Record as Adam Bruce and Eulalie Pierce. (Certificate #2662).
