Mr. Curtis was born in McCrory, AR., on October 14, 1926, the son of Reese Henderson Curtis SR. and Alice Mae Humphrey Curtis.
He attended the Beards Community School and served his country in the Merchant Marines Coast Guard.
He was married on November 15, 1947 to the former Emma Minson and together they had four children, Paul, Audie, Deborah and Tammy.
Mr. Curtis was of the Church of God Faith and enjoyed attending with his faithful wife, Emma. The children stated Mr. Paul was the "Head Honcho of the Curtis Clan". He loved hunting, fishing and watching his favorite actor, John Wayne, on television. In fact he would dress up and imitate John Wayne, much to the enjoyment of his family who were so important to him.
Survivors include his wife Emma Minson Curtis of the home, two sons and their wives, Paul A. and Susan Curtis of Columbia, South Carolina and Audie L. Curtis and his wife Kathy of Monticello, AR, two daughters: Deborah Lynn Herndon of Judsonia and Tammie J. Atkins and husband Phillip of Monticello, AR., one brother: Leon Curtis of McCrory, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Reese and Alice Curtis, three brothers, Reese Henderson Curtis, Jr., Wade and Jody Curtis, four sisters, Jessie Wright, Pauline Young, Lucille young and Eloise Beshears.
Burial was held in Woodman Cemetery in McCrory, AR. with Thompson Wilson Funeral Home in charge.
