JOY MYATT KING, 76, formerly of Nashville, died at home in Memphis, Wednesday morning after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Lona May Lemon and Reverend Boyd Welsh of Chester, SC. She leaves her husband, Dr. Kenneth O. King and her dear canine companion, Heidi. Survivors also include her children, David (Elaine) and Doug (Debbie) Erickson and her grandchildren, Jason Erickson, Josh Erickson, Jake Erickson, Shane Erickson, and Chase Erickson; a brother, Melvin Welsh (Joyce) of Nashville, TN, and a sister, Connie Cooper (Tom) of Henderson, TN. She also leaves her stepchildren, Dr. Stephen K. King (Mary Howard) of Tupelo, MS and Angie King Keesee (Lawrence) of Bozeman, MT; and step-grandchildren, Daniel King, Jace King and Warner Wills King. Visitation will be Friday, March 1 from 5-7 p.m., and the service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 2 at Memphis Funeral Home Memorial Gardens on Germantown Parkway. The family asks that any contributions be made to Lindenwood Christian Church Choir or a charity of the donor's choice.
