Elmer A. Brewster was born in Parkman, December 28, 1854, and died in Dexter, August 24, 1905.

When he was twenty-one he came to Dexter and engaged in the meat business. Later he formed a partnership with his brother to carry on a wholesale and retail grocery business under the firm name of W. E. Brewster & Company.

He married Grace A. Gilman and they had three children, George, Hugh and Clara.
