A deep and lasting gloom was cast over the home of Mr. and Mrs, J. H. Ellenbaum of No. 322 Niagara street Saturday night by the death of their only child. Clarke Edward Ellenbaum, who passed away at 9:30 p. m.

Death was very unexpected although he had been a patient sufferer from typhoid fever for the past 11 weeks. The deceased was bright and cheerful at supper time when he ate liberally of the food which was allowed him. About 9 o'clock there was a turn for the worse and he expired in a very few minutes. His parents are nearly prostrated with grief.

The deceased was born on Oct. 8th, 25 years ago, and spent his entire life in this city. He was a member of the choir of St. Peter's church for the past 17 years and was also a member of St. Andrew's Brotherhood and the Y.M.C.A.

He was was a member of Niagara Frontier lodge, No. 132. F.& A. M., Niagara Chapter No. 200, R. A. M. and, Niagara Commandery No. 64 K. T., and about the time he was taken ill he was making arrangements to become a member of.Ishmalla Temple, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine of Buffalo.

When compelled to take to his bed his only thought and request to his nurse, Miss Ryan, was that she should get him out so, that he could take the Shrine degree on the following Friday night.

During His long illness he was most patient sufferer showing a fortitude far beyond his years. The funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from St. Peter's church, the Rev. Philip Wheeler Mosher officiating. Interment will be made in Oakwood cemetery.
