Hutson, Elizabeth (Cullum) "Betty" age 72 of Philadelphia, TN passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Betty was born and grew up in Whiteford, MD where she met and married her husband of 43 years, Larry G. Hutson. They relocated to E. TN in 1978 where they enjoyed "country living" for 35 years. Betty began her banking career with Republic Federal Savings and Loan and retired from First National Bank in Loudon. Betty enjoyed singing and participated in her church choirs at Loudon UMC and First United Methodist Church, Sweetwater. She also spent several years singing in a quartet that traveled and performed. Betty was a member of an elite group referred to as the "Flamingo Girls". She dearly loved their company and their group will be missing her as well. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth (Deaver) Cullum. She is survived by husband, Larry G. Hutson; nephew, James Hutson, Murfreesboro, TN; nieces, Christy Hager, Nashville, TN, Karen Baker, Knoxville, TN; aunt and uncle, Hazel and Henry Norris, Buchanan, VA; sister in-law, Linda McElwain, Whiteford, MD; brother in-law, Scott Kirk, Woodbine, MD . Services honoring and remembering Betty Hutson will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, August 22nd, McGill-Karnes Chapel with Dr. Tony Collins officiating. Interment in Mount Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Whiteford, MD. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday prior to the service at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon. TN.
