Edwards, Lucinda Blankenship, 92, a resident of Elmore, AL, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 1:00pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Vaughn Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Ellison Funeral Home directing.
Survivors are two sons, H. Lynn (Rita) Edwards and Ricky (Diane) Edwards both of Jacksonville, AL; Two daughters, Gayle (Charles) Thornton, Wetumpka, AL and Doris Stewart, Stone Mountain, GA; Two brothers, Joe (Jenny) Haynie, Alexander City, AL and Ed Haynie, Eclectic, AL; One sister, Mary Edna Gilliland, Decatur, AL; 21 Grandchildren, 36 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
She was born May 9, 1921 in Claud, AL and was preceded in death by her father Harvey Lee Blankenship, mother Jettie Mae Brooks Blankenship Haynie, step-father Larkin Haynie, husband Thomas Alfred Edwards, two sons, Thomas (Buddy) Edwards, Jr. and Ronald Edwards; daughter, Linda Edwards Collins Felps; two brothers, Thomas Blankenship and Hamilton Haynie; two sisters, Frances Colley and Penelope Atkins.
Active pallbearers will be Tommy Thornton, Harvey Edwards, Michael Edwards, Tyler Edwards, Richard Stewart, Raymond Stewart, Lloyd Peters and Wade Turner. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church or to one's favorite charity. Visitation will be Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
