Larry Ray Barlow of McAlester, OK died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his home at the age of 63. Larry was born July 18, 1950 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Joe Barlow and Ida (Medley) Barlow. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1968. He moved to Dallas, TX where he began a career in the printing industry. He later moved back to McAlester and began working at the Army Ammunition Plant and retired in 2012. Larry is survived by his daughter, Christy Whetzel of Nacona, TX; brothers, J.B. Barlow of Scipio, OK, Ronnie Barlow and wife, Joyce of Emory, TX, and Jerry Barlow and wife, Ellen of Crowder, OK; sister, Levoyce Riddel of Bonham, TX; grandchildren, Devin, Dustyn, Lauren and Drake Whetzel; and great grandson, Brody Hall; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ida Barlow and brother, Jack Barlow. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2013 at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Arty Hearod officiating. Interment will follow at the Long Grove Cemetery, Scipio, OK. Active pallbearers will be Adam Barlow, Wade Barlow, Denny Barlow, Gary Barlow, Cleon Smith and Trent Myers. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Barlow, Jr. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Chaney Harkins Funeral Home, McAlester, OK.
