Lois Irene Ward, 87, of Kirkwood, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Saint Agnes Home in Kirkwood.

She was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Indiana, the daughter of the late George and Cora Kathrine Shaw.

She was a homemaker and seamstress and was of the Methodist faith.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie F. Ward; two sons, Opie R. Ward and Charles H. Ward; three daughters, Helen M. Whitworth, Cora Kathrine Mode and Sonya L. Ward; and one grandson, Bruce Mode.

She is survived by five sons, Teddy Ward of Lynn, Mo., Cecil M. Ward of Bourbon, Mo., Danny F. Ward of St. Peters, Mo., Randy J. Ward of Hannibel, Mo., and James K. Ward of Jonesboro; one daughter, Sulajean Busking of St. Peters, Mo.; two sisters, Marge Benoist of Bridgeton, Mo., and Estel Staas of St. Louis; 31 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday (today) at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Marston Carpenter officiating.

Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery near Greenway with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
