This grave was originally in the Sterrett Cemetery behind the Sutton Dam. All 55 graves in the cemetery (No 1) were relocated by the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1959/60 to the brand new Braxton County Memorial Cemetery prior to the completion of the Dam. The original site was submerged in the backwaters of the dam.
