Guymon, Oklahoma – Rick Jason Wood, 51, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at BSA Hospital, Amarillo, Texas.
The son of Jeannie (Johnson) and Harold (Bud) Wood, Rick Jason Wood was born January 10, 1962 in Guymon. Rick attended Guymon schools and graduated with the GHS Class of 1980. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy. Rick returned to Guymon and married Mary Jane Urias and they had a son, Christian Wood. Rick worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Guymon, for many years. He also worked for Stanfield Printing Company and had recently been managing the 12th Street Apartments. He was a longtime member of First Christian Church. Rick will be missed for his warm friendship, great sense of humor, and caring nature.
He is survived by his son, Christian Wood of Weatherford, Oklahoma; his father, Harold (Bud) Wood and wife, Earlene, of Guymon; brother, Keith Wood, and wife, Kim, of St. Thomas, Ontario; niece, Sarah Wood; nephews, Ty and Tim Wood; aunts and uncles, Lisa Durbin, Phyllis Claycomb and Jerry Johnson; and numerous cousins.
Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Wood; grandparents, Harold and Ruth Wood, and Essel Johnson.
Memorial services will be Saturday morning, August 24th, 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church, 802 N Quinn, with Rev. Larry Watson and Rev. Gary Holdeman, officiating.
