Willard Palmer graduated from Burbank High School in 1948, received a football scholarship to UCLA and then went into the Air Force. He eventually became a physicist.

He married Debbie and they had one son, Greg.

From a former classmate:
Willard & I hung around together my senior year ('48) & played football together. The next year Will went to UCLA & played QB on their freshman team (I went to Stanford & played against him in '49)... he was pretty good! Part of the group we hung with contained Bill Reynolds (Debbie's brother) & Vic Tayback (he has a TV series).
