Bill was born in Shady Point, OK. Bill was a 24-year veteran of the OKC Police Department, retiring with the rank of captain. Bill continued to work in law enforcement as an investigator for the Oklahoma County District Attorney until retiring in 1990. Bill enjoyed wintering in South Texas and playing country music with his wife in various bands.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Elzie; and mother, Dona. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his sister, Shirley Hicks & husband Leon; three children, Steve McGinley & wife Kathy, Linda Yarrow & husband Jeff, and David McGinley & wife DeAnne; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three nephews.
Services to celebrate his life will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at Buchanan Funeral Service Chapel, interment to follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens.
