Mrs. Nevada M. (Allen) Heacock, 80, of Sunset Park Place Apartments, 3730 Pennsylvania Ave., died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at The Finley Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today. Burial will be in the Asbury (Iowa) Cemetery.
She was born on April 12, 1919, in Epworth, Iowa, daughter of Robert and Nettie (Duart) Allen.
She married Allen A. Heacock on Nov. 8, 1939, at the Epworth (Iowa) United Methodist Church. They farmed in the Asbury area for 26 years prior to moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1966, where they owned and operated an apartment complex until 1979. They then moved to Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and resided there until shortly after Mr. Heacock retired in 1986, when they returned to Dubuque.
She was a longtime member of the former Asbury United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon (William "Bill") Stecher, of Centralia, Iowa, Shirley (Roger) Dalbkermeyer, of Dubuque, and Sandy (David) Staat, of Lonoke, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Jessie Thompson, of Rockford, Ill., Madalyn Rais, of Farley, Iowa, and Vivian (Harold) Kutsch and Dorene (Robert "Bob") McCarthy, both of Dubuque; and a brother, Edward (Janet) Allen, of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen A. Heacock, on March 9, 1991; a son, Harvey H. Heacock, in 1944; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
The family requests no flowers. A Nevada M. Heacock Memorial Fund has been established by her family.
