William "Billy" Fagen was born in Portland, Maine and traveled around 1876-1877 to Ormond Beach, Florida as a pioneer in his 20's becoming the Property Superintendent for John Anderson. The groves he attended had prize winning fruit making the best jams and jellies in the south. Billy built the "Nathan Cobb" house from the timbers of the wrecked schooner Nathan Cobb in 1896 and this is now a historical landmark in the City of Ormond Beach, Florida. He also built his Three Chimney's house over an abandoned sugar mill at the turn of the century and built a treehouse in a massive oak on the property known as the "Fagen Treehouse", the tree still standing as of 2013. He was married to Lillian Maud Smith Fagen and had 4 children, Faith, Hope, Phillip and Arthur.
