Harold D. Whitney, 87,of Branson Manor Apartments, died Thursday, February 2, 2006 at his residence.

Born in Stratton, VT, he was the son of the late Dwight Whitney and Iola (Westcott) Whitney and longtime companion of Mary Southard.

Mr.Whitney was a mechanic for many years.

He is survived by his sons and daughters, Joan Collins (Douglas) of East Poestenkill, Cheryl Whitney of Troy, Colleen LaPage (Bruce Smith) of E. Nassau, Keith Whitney (Cathie) of Averill Park, Brian Whitney (Shelia) of East Poestenkill, Iola Pratt (Timothy) of Rensselaer, Jody Whitney of Middleton, TN, Arthur Whitney (Linda) of East Poestenkill, Greg Whitney (Lois) of Brunswick, Timothy Whitney of Catskill, NY, Bruce Whitney of E. Poestenkill and Lucretia 'Lucky' Ballard (James) of Granville; 38 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, a sister, Lydia Springer of Castleton, VT and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Joel Whitney and two brothers, Roy Mallory and Kenneth Whitney.
