Catharine Isabelle "Belle" Butler was born the 12th of October 1845 in Ohio. She was united in marriage to George McMillen, June 27, 1867, in her parents' home in Knoxville, Marion County, Ia. The couple later moved to Glenwood, Mills County, Iowa. To this union seven children were born, four of whom have preceded her in death as did her husband of over 50 years. "Belle" passed from this earth the 9th of January 1923. She was survived by two sons Deward O. McMillen, and Charles E. McMillen as well as daughter Myrtle B. (McMillen) Rhoades.
