Anna Deane Knopp Casto, 73, of Williamstown went to her home on May 15, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born June 3, 1933, in Liverpool, Roane County, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Harold Clifford and Charlottie Staats Knopp. She attended Valley Forge School in Roane County until her family moved to Vienna in 1945. She also attended Neale School and Parkersburg High School, where she graduated in 1951.

She was an avid gardener and was a collector of salt and pepper shakers, as well as a die hard Yankees fan. She loved to learn and took several different classes, including calligraphy and tax preparation. She loved her computer and was always emailing her friends and family. She had a knack of winning things, including a bicycle and a swimming pool. She spent a large part of her life researching the genealogy of her family and later became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was a loving daughter and long time caregiver to her father and mother. Because of her kind heart, she took pride in helping anyone she thought was in need. She was everyone's Grandma.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert L. Casto; one son, David L. Malson and his wife, Marlene, of Dayton, Ohio; four daughters, Ruth Triplett of Elkins, W.Va., Cindy Heilman and her husband, Joseph, of Spencer, Charletta Kaye Boggs and her husband, Guy, of Vienna and Regina Alvarez of Parkersburg; 13 grandchildren, Christopher Malson and wife, Andrea, of Dayton, Ohio, James Moore and wife, Barbara, of Parsons, W.Va., Amber Boggs of Williamstown, Erin Moore of Clarksburg, W.Va., Elizabeth Malson of Raleigh, N.C., Nathan Boggs of Fairfax, Va., Nicholas Wintz and wife, Amy, of Rolla, Mo., Jeremy Wintz of Dale City, Va., Adam Alvarez of San Antonio, Texas, Brianna Boggs and her fiance, James Bodie, of Parkersburg, Andrew Alvarez of Parkersburg and Wayne and Isaac Triplett of Elkins, W.Va.; two honorary grandsons, Wesley George of Ohio and Christopher George of Standish, Maine; six great-grandchildren, Ashley and Joshua Malson of Dayton, Noah and Jessyka Moore of Parsons, Desiree Alvarez of San Antonio, Texas, and Akaya Bodie of Parkersburg; one brother, Lewis Knopp of Florida; two sisters, Ursula Meyers of Columbus, Ohio, and Wanda Buckley of Parkersburg; many nieces, nephews and cousins; family friend, Joan George of Vienna; and her best friend and animal companion, Princess.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Harold Knopp and Wayne Knopp.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Mt. Zion Church in Roane County with the Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the services Friday at the church.
