Jo Ann Wiley West, 76, a resident of Archdale, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 20, 2013.

She was born May 14, 1937 in Toccoa, Georgia to the late Paris W. Wiley and Mary Etta Scott Wiley. Jo Ann graduated from High Point High School in 1955 and later attended the Women's College, now (UNCG) in 1956. She worked for Central Plumbing for 47 years and also with Greensboro Auto Auction for 26 years. Jo Ann was faithful member of Green Street Baptist Church, where she was a member of Lydia Watson Class. She enjoyed shopping, working in her flowers, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandson. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her sister: Helen Wiley and 4 brothers; Fred, Charles, Walter and Bill Wiley. On January 11, 1957, she was married to Jimmy E. West, he survives of the home. Also surviving are her daughter; Karen Chester and her husband Jimmy of Thomasville, her son Jonothan Scott West and his wife Starla of Trinity, her grandchildren; Brittany Chester Dotson of High Point, Holly Chester Kearns and her husband Bryan of Thomasville, Jonothan West and Kaitlyn West of Trinity, her great grandson; Mason Dotson of High Point.

A service to celebrate Jo Ann's life will be held Thursday, August 22, 2013, at 11:00 am at Green Street Baptist Church, with Pastor Frank Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 pm at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.

Jo Ann would like to thank four nieces: Donna Byrd, Cathy Michael, Diane Spencer, and Teresa O'Shields for their special care as well as may other nieces and nephews for their love, concern, and visits. The West family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff at the Cone Cancer Center in Greensboro, 3rd floor of Wesley Long Hospital, and staff of the Hospice of The Piedmont. They were always willing to go that extra mile for Jo Ann and her family and their care is very much appreciated.
