Ted Irion was born on the family farm at Marsh, November 9, 1920, the son of Samuel and Christina Irion. He attended the Irion rural school through the eighth grade and then worked on various farms and ranches north of Terry. He and Linda Alma Kalmback were married at Fallon, September 26, 1948. Mr Irion purchased the Fallon Exxon station from his brother, Albert, in 1950 and operated it for a dozen years. Then, in 1962, he bought a farm 28 miles south-east of Fallon, that he owned, until his death. He was a past member of the Elks and Eagles lodges. Mr Irion died suddenly and unexpectedly from an apparent heart attack, at his ranch while at work feeding cattle on March 7, 1983. He was 62 years of age.
Survivors include his wife, and two brothers, Clarence E (Andy) of Terry and Morris W of Billings. He was preceded in death by his father and mother in 1966 and 1980, respectively; a brother, Albert, in 1977, and a sister, in 1918.
