Jesse Davis was born November 21, 1897, on the banks of Montana’s Musselshell River, to William Elihu and Olga Marie Olson Davis. He began herding sheep at the age of 12 and worked through out the state, including the John McHerlick sheep ranch and the CBC horse ranch, both on the Big Dry. After he came to Terry country, Davis worked on the Walt Reukauf, Charles Harms and SH ranches.
Mr Davis died at the age of 85, in the Prairie Community Hospital, on August 20, 1983. He is survived by two brothers, James Davis of Miles City and Benjamin Davis of Polson, and by one sister, Iva M Durand of Miles City.
