Mrs. Idora Clista South Waters entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Jan. 27, 2002. Mrs. Idora was born in Carroll County, Oct. 21, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Lee and Gertrude Clista Marlow South.
She was married to Gary Lynn Waters on March 25, 1950 with whom she had five loving devoted children. Daughter Patricia Lynn Edwards, married to Gayle Edwards of Roopville, son Michael Elton Troy Waters and wife Paula all of Carrollton. Son Kelly G. Waters whom preceded her in death in 1977, was married to Beth Crawford of Bowdon.
Daughter, Michelle Diane Hall married to David Hall whose children are Laren Clista, Coleman Blake who preceded her in death in 1993, Mason Lanier and David Cain Hall, all of Bowdon; son Gael Dean Waters and wife Virginia of Milledgeville; brothers, Floyd, Buddy and Dillard South; one sister, Audrey Grimes preceded her in death. Surviving Brothers and sisters are Hazel, Curtis, Loyd and Jackie South; two Sisters, Irene Reeves and Erma South.
Mrs. Waters was stricken with cancer in Sept 1986. The past years she proved that even the horrific effects of chemotherapy and radiation given numerous times over the years could not keep her from serving and loving others.
Mrs. Idora was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Clem.
Funeral services will be conducted today, Jan. 29, at 3:30 p.m. from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Griffin, Rev. Kelly Runnells and Rev Doug New officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Christopher Shane and Kelly Gayle Edwards, Michael Cameron and Matthew Cory Waters and friends Chris White and Randall Hammock.
Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens in Carrollton.
