MANTACHIE – Jason Scott Franks , 37, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013. He was born Aug. 15, 1976. He worked at Lane Furniture, and he was a Baptist in belief. He enjoyed playing golf and hunting. He especially enjoyed coaching his sons' baseball and football teams.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Dempsey Rowland and Shay Guess officiating. Burial will be in Fawn Grove Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Shae Franks; his mother and father, Jimmy and Shelia Franks; four sons, Landon Franks, Payden Franks, Zachary Franks, and Bryson Franks; one sister, Mandy Shelton (Steve), all of Mantachie; his grandmothers, Ethel Smith of Mantachie and Victoria Franks of Tremont; his mother-in-law, Janice Johnson; his brother-in-law, Eli Johnson (Brittney); one niece, Averie Johnson; one nephew, Ashton Shelton, all of Mantachie; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Delbert Smith and Bonnie Franks.

Pallbearers will be Chad Baxter, Derek Thompson, Jody Dody, Jason Johnson, Doug Gordon and Dicky Frazier.

Honorary pallbearers will be his fellow coaches and his former players of his ball teams.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Mantachie.
