Betty Creighton, 79, of Armstrong died at 6:47 a.m. Monday (Aug. 19, 2013) at Country Health Care in Gifford.

She was born Aug. 27, 1933 in Blount Township, the daughter of Kenneth and Mildred Dennison Arnold. She married Wilbur Creighton on Aug. 29, 1953 in Sacramento, California. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a nephew.

She is survived by one daughter, Becky (Ed) Hillman Jr.; two sons, Dennis Creighton and Frank (Cindy) Creighton; five grandchildren, Nicole Shaffer, Heather (Tyson) Roan, Eddie Hillman III, Jimmy Creighton and Justin Creighton; two great-granddaughters, Lily and Madison Roan; sister, Darlene Rickart; sister-in-law, Helen Creighton and several nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Armstrong High School. She worked for several years as a cook at the Armstrong/Ellis Grade School. She later owned and operated Betty's Corner Ceramics for several years.
