Funeral services were conducted recently for Vernon Dick Tackett, 53, of Globe, who died at the St. Claire Medical Center, Morehead, following a heart attack.
He was born in Rowan County October 15, 1913, a son of the late H.G. and Lizzie Caudill Tackett. He operated a garage at Globe.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Frazier Tackett; 6 daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Boggs, Grove City, O., Mrs. Gene Halbrooks, Atlanta, Ga., Miss Janet Sue Tackett, Louisville, Barbara, Pamela and Judy, at home; 1 grandchild; 4 sisters, Mrs. Ola Walker and Mrs. Mae Owens, Niles, O., Mrs. Zela Day, Warren, O., 2 brothers, Arrney Tackett, Globe, and Bob Tackett, Grayson; one step-brother, Valva C. Kitts, Globe.
Services were held at the Leslie A. Henderson Funeral Home with Andy Kiser and Jesse Hilton officiating. Burial was in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery.
