Rice Arnold died at the Masonic home at Plattsmouth on Wednesday, June 13, 1923 and the remains were brought here Friday afternoon and buried in the family lot beside those of his wife who passed away only a few months ago, the Masons having charge of the burial service and interment being made direct from the train.

Rice Arnold was an early day settler here and at one time served as sheriff of Washington county, and was, later, chief of police in Blair for a number of years, and had a wide acquaintance in this part of the state, and many personal friends here. One Son, Bige, and three daughters survive him.
