Mrs. Price was born, July 26, 1930, in Shenandoah, VA and was the daughter of the late Sherman L. and Gladda Hensley Baugher.
Betty was married to Albert H. Price, who preceded her in death on November 21, 2003. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Gregory Wentz and Lyle Price, and ten of her siblings.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter; Christian Wentz and wife, Sarah, of Elkton, VA, Mark C. Wentz and wife, Stephanie, of Shenandoah, VA, and Barbara Price, of Harrisonburg, VA; six granddaughters, Brooklyn and Beverly Wentz, of Shenandoah, VA, Britany, Bethany and Berkley Wentz, of Elkton, VA, and Bridget Price, of Harrisonburg, VA.; three great-grandsons, Shay, Sylas, and Steele Price, of Harrisonburg, VA; and one sister, Janice Dinges, of Elkton, VA.
She retired from Rockingham Memorial Hospital after 30 years of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Betty was known for having an open home. Her home was the gathering place for many family meals and holiday celebrations.
A special thank you to the wonderful nursing staff at Avante and the Hospice nurses.
A memorial service will be held at 7pm Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, VA, with the Rev. David Reynolds officiating.
