Mr. Otis Becton, 70, of Sylvania, passed away Sunday, August 18th at his home.
He was a native of Jenkins County and a member of the McDonald Baptist Church. Otis retired from the Sylvania Housing Authority after many years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur B. Becton and Alice Cowart; siblings, Minnie Bell Sherrod, James Becton, Robert Becton and Pearl Myers.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jill Saxon Becton; a daughter, Jillian Becton; a son, Tyler Becton, all of Sylvania; siblings, Ruth Williams of Statesboro, GA, Rudolph and Jeannette Becton, Doris Young, Johnny and Bonnie Becton, all of Millen, Jean B. Skinner of Sylvania, and Rudine and Sandy Becton of Millen.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 20th, 2013 from 10:00-11:00am at the Joiner-Anderson Screven Chapel.
Memorial services will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00am with Rev. Rudine Becton and Rev. Paul Dennis officiating.
