Airman First Class Ray Barnhart, 19 of Sigourney, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1992 at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska.

He was born December 2, 1972 in Sigourney to Ronald and Bonnie Linder Barnhart.

He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1991 and entered the U.S. Air Force July 2, 1991. He was a certified weather observer stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney and was active in the Church's Youth Leadership Group.

Surviving are his parents; a sister, Brenda Barnhart; and his grandparents, Dale and Helen Barnhart and Dean and Roberta Linder.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 7 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, with Fr. Ernie Braida officiating. Burial was at the Pennington Cemetery near Sigourney.
