Martin J Sackman was born on November 2,1866 in Wedenberg Bessarabia. He spent three years in the military service and on December 20, 1891, was united in marriage in Kulm, Bessarabia to Barbara Schmidt. Following their marriage Mr and Mrs Sackman came to America and settled near Ashley ND in Macintosh County before moving to MT in 1911. Here he homesteaded south of Fallon and farmed until a year ago when he and his children moved to Fallon. He was very active until about 4 months ago when he was stricken with a heart ailment, and has been bedridden since that time.

Mr Sackman, a pioneer Fallon Flat resident, died in his home in Fallon. He is survived by six daughters, Mrs CD Cullen of Marsh, Mrs Andreas Sackman of Pixley CA, Mrs John Wenz of Fairfield and Katherine, Regina and Rebecca of Fallon; and three sons, John, Martin, and Andrew of Fallon. Preceding him in death were his wife and one son, Adam.
