Marilyn (Olson) McQueen, formerly of the Montevideo area and the sister of Dean Olson of Montevideo, died on Saturday February 11, 1995 in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 71. Memorial services will be conducted in Montevideo later in the spring.
Marilyn (Olson) McQueen was born on January 22, 1924 in Leenthrop Township of Chippewa County, Minnesota to Elmer and Florence Olson. She attended Montevideo High School and graduated in 1941. Marilyn also attended Windom College in Montevideo for two years and Minneapolis Business College for one year. She moved to California in 1946.
She was united in marriage to Jack McQueen in 1946 in California. She lived in California, Colorado, Idaho, and in Florence, Oregon for a number of years, where she worked as a legal secretary. Following the death of her husband in 1984, she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she was currently residing.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice and her husband Masaru Yatabe of Portland, OR; by grandchildren: Lisa, Michael, and Mark Yatabe; by a sister, Alice Pearson of Maplewood, MN; and by a brother, Dean Olson of Montevideo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Jack in 1984; and by brothers, Norman and Rollan Olson.
