Alice Koethe, 96, of Montevideo died Saturday, July 24, 1993 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 3, 1993 at 10:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Alvin Lewis will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home and at the church for one hour before services on Tuesday.
Alice Marie Dahl was born January 4, 1897 in Trondheim, Norway the daughter of William and Anna Dahl. In 1910 the Dahl family immigrated to America and then came directly to Montevideo. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was confirmed in 1911. Alice graduated from Montevideo High School in 1918 and taught school in the Montevideo area for many years. She was united in marriage with Lester E. Koethe on September 14, 1921. Lester died April 1, 1985.
She is survived by two children: Lester, Jr. "Dick" and his wife Barb of Phoenix, AZ and Pauline Hansen and her husband Stan of Kingsburg, CA; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and four sisters: Anna Barager, Valborg Anderson, Verda Anderson, and Inger Kennedy all in the Minneapolis area.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lester; two brothers: Paul Dahl and Walter Dahl; and one sister, Dagny Fritts.
