Johnson died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, surrounded by his family at his home on as a result of acute myeloid leukemia.
Harlen Johnson was Nov. 14, 1937, in Frost, son of Harold and Irene (Egeness) Johnson. He was a radar operator in the U.S. Navy for the Airborne Early Warning System patrolling the Northern Atlantic in Super Constellation planes.
Survivors include: wife, Jan Johnson of Winnebago; sons, Randy Johnson of Dunn, N.C., and Tracy Johnson of Huntley; daughters, Robin Howard of Edina and Kelly Huper of Winnebago; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Terry Johnson of Buffalo and Richard Johnson of Frost; and sister, Lois Hansel of Albert Lea.
