John Anderson Grubaugh was born in 1848 to David C. Crubaugh and Sarah S. Conkil. He was raised in Crawford County, IL, but relocated to Christian County, MO with a portion of his family in about 1868. He married Margaret McGinnis on 8 Jan 1874 in Christian County. They had nine children together - Sarah Emma Grubaugh Jones (1874-1930), Delphia Angelina Grubaugh Wolf (1876-1920), Eliza Jane Grubaugh Doran (1878-1964), Ida May Grubaugh (1880-1955), George Andrew "Andy" Grubaugh (1882-1878), Nellie Anne Grubaugh Wolf (1885-1967), Bertha Jane Grubaugh (1887-1887), James Edd Grubaugh (1887-1972), and Pearl Victoria Grubaugh (1891-1985). John worked as a farmer. John died in 1924 and Margaret died about two years later.
