Renowned vocal artist, resident of University Park, graduate of SMU. Taught private voice lessons in her home and also taught music at St. Mark's School in Dallas. At time of death, survived by her nephew, Javier Correa and his wife, Omega and their children, Javier M. Correa and his wife, Lynette and their children, Trevor, Daniel, Megan and Valerie Peairson and her children, Travis Kyle and Layne; and nephews, Victor Ortega and Nolan Correa and his children, Nolan and Ronald Correa; and many other family members in Mexico. If desired, memorials may be made to the Belen Ortega Scholarship Fund at SMU.
