MENCH -- Mrs. Clara Mench, 92, 3035 N. Church St., died at 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 1965 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She lived the past three months with her daughter, Mrs. Jason Afflerbaugh, Rockford, and several years prior with another daughter, Mrs. E.W. Runte, Rock City. Ill. Born Sept. 23, 1872 in Davis, Ill., daughter of Charles and Sarah Liljequist. Married to John O. Mench in Rockford in May 1906. Member of Davis Methodist Church. Survivors include; two daughters, Mrs. Jason (Helen) Afflerbaugh, Rockford and Mrs. E.W. (Mrian) Runte, Rock City, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Ada Thompson, Chicago Heights, Ill.; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter. Her husband a daughter and two sons preceded her in death.
Services at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21 in Davis Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Wellman pastor of the church officiating. Burial in Davis Cemetery. Arrangements by Chapin Funeral Home, Durand, Ill. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
