Mrs. Hazel Newman Marchman, 69, of Newnan, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at Fayette Community Hospital.

Mrs. Marchman was born Nov. 7, 1932, in Heard County, to the late Roger and Lucy Newman. Mrs. Marchman was devoted to caring for her family and friends. She was a retired dietitian for the Coweta County School System, and a life-long member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Heard County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Marchman.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard Scarbrough and Steve Clark will officiate, and burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Alford Wright, Paul Davis, Jim Evans, Steve Clark, Garrett Woods, Gary Jacobsen, Ricky Marchman, and David Pilgreen.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, Jan. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Surviving are her children, Kathy Dumas of Newnan, Connie Jones and her husband Darrel of Newnan, and Mark Marchman and his wife Darlene, also of Newnan; sisters Nina Folds and Irene Lane of Franklin, Mary Turner and Myrtle Wilbur of Newnan, and Jewell Huffman of Aiken, S.C.; brother Paul Newman of Eldorado, Ark.; grandchildren Tracey Dumas, Richard Jones, Lindsey Marchman, Tyler Marchman, Tiffany Jones Tucker, and Eli Wortham, and many great grandchildren.
