Janice N. Hogan, 82, of Oregon, OH passed away Friday, August 16, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born in Marblehead, Ohio on May 18, 1931, to George and Verna (Lucas) Walland. Janice was a 1949 graduate of Danbury Lakeside High School and a recipient of a full scholarship to BGSU in Theater Arts. When her father suffered a stroke at an early age, she gave up the scholarship to take care of the family. Janice worked at the Erie Army Depot as a purchasing agent and retired from St. Charles Hospital in 2006 after 40 years as a unit clerk. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Toledo, past president of the St. Louis Parish Altar/Rosary Society, board member of the East Toledo Senior Center, member of the senior center Wii bowling league and a member of the Red Hat Society. Janice was a great cook, enjoyed reading, flower gardening and going out for coffee and out to eat. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and doting on her grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Judy (Phil) LaPorte of Oregon, OH, Joseph (Mary) Hogan of Nashville, TN, and Sharon (Tony) Mastracci of Chicago, IL; sister, Gloria Pepa of Lakeside, OH; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Walland; brother-in-law, Morey Hogan, and grandchildren, Jadin LaPorte and Nicholas Hogan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cornelius Hogan, and brother, Richard Walland

Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S Coy Road on Sunday, August 18, 2013, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and proceed to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 638 Locust St., Toledo, OH for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
