W. J. BRADBURY OF ARCOLA IS DEAD
Arcola, Ill., March 5. -- William J. Bradbury, oldest continuous resident and one of the early business men of Arcola, died at his home Thursday, following a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been suffering with pneumonia and an infected leg. He was 89 years old.
Mr. Bradbury was born in England and came to the United States with his parents when two years old. The family first settled in DeKalb, where they resided until 1858. In that year they moved to Arcola and Mr. Bradbury had resided here continuously since then.
For many years, he was associated with his brother, Ben Bradbury, in the coal and implement business.
On June 29, 1876, he married Miss Mary Wynn. She died 14 years ago. Surviving are two children, Charles Bradbury of Wheeling, W. Va., and Miss Alma Bradbury, at home.
