Barbara Hemphill
CHESTER -- Ms. Barbara Alice Hemphill, 58, of 1220 Bedrock Drive died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Chester Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, with Brother James Rouse delivering the discourse. Burial will be at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church cemetery in Fairfield County.

A native of Chester County, Ms. Hemphill was a daughter of the late Edward Hemphill and Lizzie Mae Toliver Simpson. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Chester congregation, a former member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, attended the Chester County schools, graduated from Finley High School and was a bookkeeper at St. Paul Insurance Co. in New York.

Surviving are her son, John Edward Hemphill of the home; her brother, Edward D. Hemphill of New York; and four sisters, Joyce D. Glenn and Emma J. McMaster, both of New York, and Shirley A. Turner and Idelia Simpson, both of Chester.

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body may be viewed from 3 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St.
