Samuel Monroe served in the French Indian War; Commanded by Captain Jedediah Fay of Ashford Connecticut from April 10 to September 3,1758.
Also in the campaign of 1759 under Captain Slap of Mansfeild Connecticut. In the Revolutionary War he served in the Fourth Company Eighth Regiment of Connectic Volunteers from July 8 to November 30,1175. Then re enlisted May 14,1776 in Captain Oziah Petibone's Company of Colonel Ward's regiment. He Died in service on January 15, 1777. It is in the Archives in the Connecticut State Library.
