Eugene Lawrence Burton of Orange City, Fla., passed away on Aug. 12, 2013. Gene was born on Sept. 24, 1929, in Terre Haute, to David and Bernice Burton. He graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1947. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years before retiring in Orlando, Fla.
After retirement, Gene worked for Velda Farms and World Tire in Orlando. He then worked for A.O.K. Tires in Apopka.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; and his son, David (Beth). He is survived by his sister, Patricia Hall (Jack) of Terre Haute; his children, Deborah Kane (Michael) of Windermere, Karen D'Angelo of Sanford, and Chris Burton (Kerry) of Deltona; grandchildren Lamar, Emily, Nicholas, Amanda, Joshua, Levi, Chelsea, and Christopher; and great-grandchildren, Zander, Alexis, Alex, Tyler, Deziree, Jacob, Cadence, Tim, and Sean.
Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
