Debra Kay Grant, 52, of Holmen, Wis., formerly of Stewartville, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester from complications of a heart condition.
She was born May 5, 1951, in Lansing, where she grew up. She attended Austin Schools and graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester.
On June 5, 1971, she marred Wesley Grant in Brownsdale. They moved to Stewartville in 1974.
Debra nursed at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin and, for the past 17 years, at the Stewartville Care Center. Debra and Wesley had moved to Holmen, Wis. this past month, where Debra was employed at the Le Crescent, Minn. Care Center.
She enjoyed golfing and bowling.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley; mother, Beulah Luthe, Austin; daughter, Teresa (Dale) Compton, Mankato; son, Michael Grant, Holmen, Wis.; three grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Delaine) Luthe, Austin; Robert (Rita) Luthe, Brownsdale; sisters, Kathy (Harold) Paine, Lansing; Barb (Paul) Miller, Hayward; Patty (Cliff) Bailey, Lansing; Sandy (Carl) Davis, Austin.
She was preceded in death by her father, a brother and a granddaughter.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, then for one hour before the service at the church.
Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stewartville with the Rev. John Fritsch officiating.
Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, Brownsdale.
