A Celebration of Life for Zalla Gertrude Conger, 94, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013, at First Church of God, West Plains, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Conger died at 11:58 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2013, at her home.
She was born October 14, 1918, at Hartville, Missouri, to Frank Ballinger and Laura Keys Ballinger. In 1938, she was married at Dora, Missouri, to Guy Edmonds, who preceded her in death in August, 1960. On June 2, 1990, she was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Robert Conger, who preceded her in death on April 1 8, 2012. She had worked as a receptionist and assistant to Dr. Jack Hayes and was a hospital volunteer. She was very involved in church and loved traveling and making quilts that she gave away. Mrs. Conger was a member of the First Church of God.
She is survived by two children, Bob Edmonds, wife, Linda, Branson, Missouri and Sherrill Dorris, husband, Jim, West Plains, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Steven Edmonds, wife, Sue, Kelly Parrish, Sherry Edmonds, Pamala Backus, husband, Randy, Patty Mason, Dana Hall, husband, David and Lori Williams, husband, Bush; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Estyl Balliger, West Plains, Missouri; three sisters, Ivene Martin, West Plains, Missouri, Wilma Ballinger and Zella Ballinger, both of Gordon, Nebraska.
Her parents, husbands and one sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Doyle Smith, precede her in death.
