Charles H. and Mary Augusta "Gussie" DeWoody, 89 and 85 respectively, of Coggon were killed in a traffic accident Tuesday at highways 151 and 13 Marion.
He was born Sept. 10 1893, at Coggon, and she was born Sept., 19, 1897, near Coggon. They were married Nov. 10, 1915 at Central City and were members of First Christian Church in Coggon.
Surviving are two sons, Harold of Cedar Rapids and Carl of Olin; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Eiler of Coggon and Mrs. Esther Cooling of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ella Mack of Anamosa, Mrs. Edith Jones of Alburnett and Mrs. Estelle Trott of San Marcus, Calif.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Parish Church, Coggon, by the Rev. Nancy Nichols. Burial: Coggon Cemetery. Friends may call at Murdoch Funeral Home, Coggon, after 3 p.m. today. A memorial fund has been established.
