Sidney John Guedry, Sr., age 80, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Ochsner Regional Medical Center in Kenner. He was a retired bookkeeper and native of New Sarpy, LA and lived in Norco, LA since 1953. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Guedry; children: Sidney Guedry (Anne) of Hammond, LA, Mark Guedry of Florien, LA, Linda and Ruth Guedry of Ponchatoula, LA, and Edgar Guedry of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, Roger Guedry, Jr.; sister, Carol Sutton; three grandchildren: Sara Powell, Forrest Guedry and Ginger Broussard; five great-grandchildren; Quentin and Gabriel Broussard, Kaitlin, Kendall and Lindsey Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Morvant Guedry; parents: Roger Guedry and Delphine Kinler; daughter-in-law, Linda Rabeaux Guedry; siblings: Josephine Barrient, Edna Seri, Edith Ancale, Michael Guedry, Agnes LaBranche and George Guedry. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco , LA and will continue on Monday, July 11, 2011 from 9:00 am until 11:45 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon from the church with Fr. Terry Becnel officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan.
