Mr. William A; Baxter of Hollywood, Md., died Thursday, April 24, 1975, in the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. Mr. Baxter, 59 years old, had retired several years ago from his home in Lanham, Md., to live in Hollywood. He was a member of the Prince George's Police Department and served as an honor guard on many occasions. He was also a member of the F.O.P. (Fraternal Order of Police) of Prince George's County and of the Patuxent Power Squadron in St. Mary's County. He enjoyed St. Mary's County and the sports of fishing and boating.
Mr. Baxter is survived by his wife Lillian Goreham Baxter of the Hollywood home address; his children, Geraldine, James, Hilda Greenwell and Eleanor Sweeney, all from out of the County; and nine grandchildren.
He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Calpemia Baxter, who lives in Hollywood.
Prayers were said at the Collins Funeral Home, Silver Spring, Md., Sunday evening, April 27.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Monday morning, April 28, in St. John's Church, Hollywood.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers for Mr. Baxter were Wilbur Edstrom, Lester Gould, Thomas Snoddy, Philip Souder, Arthur Kriner and Robert Duncan.
